05 Feb Fall in Love with Your Interior Décor
Love is in the air this month. And there’s no reason it shouldn’t be reflected in your home’s décor says Delray Beach interior designer Tiffany Woolley.
House Beautiful offers a variety of DIY Valentine’s Day decorations that they assure us are “anything but cheesy.” Here are a few of our favorites:
- For a simple and simply delightful start to the day, House Beautiful suggests matching flowers with your linens that will take the concept of breakfast in bed up a notch. (This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday, so why not go for brunch in bed!)
- And talk about simple – how’s this for a fun idea: use colorful lightbulbs. “Swap out your regular lightbulbs with pink or red ones to set the Valentine’s Day mood. It’ll be in line with your theme without overwhelming your home in glitter, hearts, and candy.”
- If you have a steady hand and want to impress someone, you can try their suggestion of building a tower of champagne glasses. (We might also suggest making it a rosé for an extra holiday touch.)
- Why should wreaths be only for Christmas? “Make a Valentine’s Day wreath,” the magazine suggests. “Nothing says ‘welcome’ quite like a lovely floral door hanging.”
- Shake things up a bit! “For something a little more edgy and sophisticated, try something a little more edgy and sophisticated, try a branching floral instead of roses. Something delicate and romantic like cherry blossoms would be perfect.”
- Make a DIY kiss print to give as a gift or to spice up your own décor. “You might feel a bit silly making this V-Day print at first, but we promise it’s actually fun and it’ll be worth it once it’s hanging on the wall,” the folks at House Beautiful say. “See how it’s done at Style Me Pretty.”
And, if you don’t absolutely love the look and feel of your home, make a date with Tiffany Woolley, one of the most sought-after interior decorators in Delray Beach.
